Speak to me about a custom project, whether that be a leadlight window for installation in your home or business, or a glass artwork.
We'll chat about the design, size, colour palette, placement and all that fun stuff.
Check out the process below.
Fill out contact form, or send an email to Eloise hello@foolsglass.com if you have visual images to share.
If possible, please provide detailed information such as location, approximate size, placement within the space, key dates, any visual references you have in mind, and any budget requirements you may have.
Also, consider the amount of natural light in the space. This information will help us select the most suitable glass and colours for your project.
I totally understand that discussing budget can be ~icky~, especially when you're not sure about what the process entails.
For smaller glass projects, I'd suggest allowing a minimum budget of $750AUD. This accounts for the considerable amount of thinking, labour (& love) that goes into each piece.
If you have any questions, please always feel free to ask.
Eloise may be in touch via phone or email to confirm some details or provide recommendations. From there, we'll provide a quote for your commission.
If the quote is accepted, Fools Glass require a 50% deposit to cover design phase & material costs.
Once we have all our ducks in a row, the fun begins.
Fools Glass will design the piece to scale. A digital mock-up is prepared and sent via email to demonstrate indicative glass palette.
If we are creating leadlight window for installation, a site visit will be required to confirm leadlight window dimensions (unless they can be provided by a qualified tradesperson). This visit is also an opportunity to assess the available light sources in the area.
For large scale commissions, Fools Glass can bring physical glass samples for you to review in the space.
Following the presentation, you'll have the opportunity to provide feedback around the design and glass selection.
Generally one round of client amendments is included.
Fools Glass will refine the design according to your feedback.
Now we're all set to begin constructing your piece!
The process will vary depending on the glass technique used, and it will be clearly outlined in your quote.
Fools Glass will indicate a lead time, or can accomodate deadlines.
Fools Glass works with a number of local framers who are comfortable handling glass artworks. We can chat about options, if it's required for your commission.
When you're piece is complete, we'll arrange delivery or pick-up.
Pick-up from Fools Glass Brunswick studio is recommended if you're locally based as you'll save yourself some costs!
Otherwise, we can arrange courier delivery or drop-off.
The final balance will be required prior to delivery.
We can handle the removal of existing windows and the reinstallation of new leadlight if preferred. Again, we'll discuss this early on in the process and can confirm costs with you.
